Cuba St, Wellington

A scene looking south down Cuba St in 1999.

This must have been taken in winter, people are dressed in heavy coats, there's no leaves on the tree — it looks cold.

Cuba St is Wellington's funkiest street. It's the street with the most character. Old run-down shops, cafes and second-hand bookshops, it runs through Wellington's very tiny red light district.

Just out of shot on the right, there's a children's slide in a small play area. Matthew always wants to stop there.

Often Deb and I will just walk up and down the street, browsing in shops, people watching, getting a coffee somewhere.

It's a good street for strolling.
