Cuba St, Wellington A scene looking south down Cuba St in 1999. This must have been taken in winter, people are dressed in heavy coats, there's no leaves on the tree it looks cold. Cuba St is Wellington's funkiest street. It's the street with the most character. Old run-down shops, cafes and second-hand bookshops, it runs through Wellington's very tiny red light district. Just out of shot on the right, there's a children's slide in a small play area. Matthew always wants to stop there. Often Deb and I will just walk up and down the street, browsing in shops, people watching, getting a coffee somewhere. It's a good street for strolling. |
