I am becoming used to coding things by hand. I'm using Homesite. Partly it's that using stylesheets for layout means Dreamweaver can't really handle displaying how they look. Partly it feels somehow "cleaner" to do it this way. Poke me if I become a hand-coding snob though!
“What are you going to get me for my birthday?”, Deb just asked. I improvised - “A surprise!” “Really?”, she said, her voice lifting slightly upward with delight at the end of the word. I quickly deflated that. “You're kind of naive for someone who's been married to me for this long! I have no idea what I'm going to buy you, I just said that to buy some time for myself.” Such small moments a marriage is made of. It's her birthday is a couple of weeks. Suggestions for presents are welcome!
It's lighter a little longer in the evening now. Soon we'll swap over to daylight saving. The long cold winter feels as if it's slipped north once more. My mood seems lighter too. I walked up the hill tonight from the bus stop, breathing in the soft scents of bushes and flowers, looking across to the dying light on the hills and up to the clouds scudding across the sky. I smiled a lot while I was walking. A passing bus driver waved to me - it's a bus I often get on the way home.
It's a Friday night. It's a good feeling. I've been smiling more lately. It's a good feeling also.
