Brett was here working on the garden this morning and Matthew was out with him. Matthew asked, “How big is your dick?” Brett looked at him, not quite sure what to say. Matthew continued, “How tall is it? Does it go up to the sky? Is it as big as our one?” and pointed towards our deck.
So the backyard looks something like this at the moment. The shed at the end is where my office is going to be. It's bigger than it looks! The logs are for terracing and we'll fill around with dirt and grass over.
This is looking back at the house and our new deck — which now has rails around it. Of course the weather has been cold and wet all this past week, so all we've been able to do is look forlornly at the deck.
I'm completely losing track of the days now. There's no real difference between weekdays and weekends. It's more like; some days Matthew is home, some days he's at care. All days me and Deb are at home. Some days builders and landscape gardeners are here and some days they're not. All days I have work to do, and some days I actually manage to do some. And don't mention the nights! All nights are full of broken sleep, interrupted by pregnant women and pre-schoolers with bad dreams. Oh, and cats curled up in unexpected places. I can't imagine what it's like sleeping through a night in peaceful slumber!
We're waiting to meet our baby now. The due date is past, the parents are hanging around trying to occupy themselves. We're even got the name problem solved, but no one's knowing that until we check with the baby first!
We saw the Doctor today. He looked at Debbie as we entered and told her to cheer up, it's only a day overdue. I just looked at him and told him cheerful went about 4 weeks ago! It's now been replaced by grumpy and very grumpy. We're (don't you love using “we” when your wife is pregnant?) going to wait until next Wednesday and reassess then. He's booked Debbie in for an elective caesarean next Thursday, so we'll have that as an option if the baby hasn't come by then.
Days in limbo. I guess we should enjoy them.

A Wellington band. I have no idea what they're like, but saw someone wearing a t-shirt the other day!
